Rylan Amos

Rylan Amos is a Nuchanuilth artist born in Victoria, British Columbia  on Oct 13th 1977. He began carving when he was 10 years old, learning from his father Pat Amos. Since his 22nd birthday he has apprenticed with his grandfather, Tim Paul, where he is learning to carve totem poles,  canoes and other sculptural work in wood. His work is in traditional Nuchanuilth style, basing each mask on the old hereditary stories.
Rylan demonstrated his carving technique at The Heard Museum Indian Market in 2004, 2005 and 2006.
He lives in Port Alberni, B.C.
