The Raven, often called the trickster, can transform into many other forms. In many stories he changes into a human so that he can interact with other people.

The transformation mask is the most elaborate of the northwest coast dance masks. It requires great skill to carve all the pieces and assemble them into a functional piece that will work dependably. This particular mask was made by Tom Patterson.
